Arches of the Pacific Science Center
Seattle Tourist Attractions--Architecture--Seattle Center
These five white 110 foot high arches and the surrounding six buildings were built as the U.S Science Pavilion for the 1962 World's Fair. I like the description of the arches in the book Seattle Architecture: A Walking Tour of Downtown. Quoting from the book, "They appear to be free-standing ribs of a medieval cathedral vault." The delicate forms of the arches are one of the beautiful symbols of Seattle Center.
