Seattle Attractions--Seattle Center
Built in 1962 for the World’s Fair
Renovated and redesigned in 1995
The International Fountain is part of an open space called Fountain Lawn on the northern part of Seattle Center. This entire space along with the South Fountain Lawn is an expanse of open area that is made for having fun.
The fountain features 283 shooters that can send 66 gallons of water as high as 120 feet in the air. The continuous show at the fountain features computer controlled water, sound, and lighting. The fountain show is seasonal and only runs in the warmer months.
The fountain is a real people magnet. On a busy summer day, crowds of families buzz around this place. The kids thoroughly enjoy playing in the beautiful fountains of water. There are plenty of places where the adults can sit and stay dry.
The fountain is an excellent subject for photographers.
