Seattle Blog and Recent Site Additions

Upcoming Blog Articles from My Recent Seattle Visit

I just returned from a ten day early June trip to Seattle.  It was a really busy trip.  My trip agenda covered a number of venues and new attractions.  Here is a capsule summary of my upcoming blog articles from this visit.

LeMay--America's Car Museum

This fabulous new museum opened in Tacoma and it is filled with attractive cars.  This will be a major destination attraction for the greater Seattle and Tacoma area.

Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition

Chihuly Garden and Glass

This permanent exhibition of the art of Dale Chihuly opened recently in Seattle Center.  It offers a grand presentation of Chihuly’s work throughout his career. I love Chihuly’s work and this place does not disappoint.

Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs Exhibition

King Tutankhamun

Newly opened at the Pacific Science Center is this dazzling exhibition. My mouth hung open as I walked through this fabulous presentation.  This is a blockbuster exhibition that viewers will remember for a long time.

The Woodland Park Zoo

It is always fun to visit this outstanding zoo with its world class exhibits.

Gas Works Park

I did a new photo shoot of this really popular and scenic park.

The Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island

This is my latest visit to one of the most attractive places in the greater Seattle area.

Gardens and Landscaping

I visited eight places in the Seattle area that are gardens or that have notable landscaping to check out their late spring color.  I returned to these gardens:  Bellevue Botanical Gardens, Kubota Garden, the Seattle University campus, the Seattle Center campus, Washington Park Arboretum,  Volunteer Park, the Woodland Park Rose Garden, and Parsons Garden on Queen Anne Hill.

New Gardens

For my first time, I visited the impressive gardens at the South Seattle Community College.  This was also my first visit to Streissguth Gardens on Capitol Hill.

The Klondike Gold Rush National Park Seattle Museum

This is an excellent small museum about an important part of Seattle’s history and I returned to it for updated photos and to document their latest exhibit.

Art

I revisited the Blue Trees Art Project in Westlake Park to do a photo shoot of the Blue Trees with foliage on them.  My April feature on this project showed the trees without foliage.

Coffee Houses

I visited several coffee houses for the first time—Herkimer Coffee in Phinney Ridge, Diva Espresso in Greenwood, and the new Cherry Street location on Fifth and Denny. The coffee was splendid at all of the houses.

W Hotel

This hotel’s lobby is one of the most beautiful in Seattle.  I did a photo shoot of the lobby.

Seattle Monorail

This popular attraction is also quite functional—it is the fastest way to go from Seattle Center to Westlake Center.  I did a new photo shoot from the front of the lead train car documenting the entire trip as well as taking more shots of the cars and the Seattle Center station.

The Rainier Brewery Building

This is the site of the original Rainier Brewery headquarters building and brewery.  I will produce a blog article about this colorful and historic building.
