One of the highlights of the holiday season is the Garden d'Lights Festival at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Thousands of volunteer hours are spent assembling the display of over 500,000 lights and the results are always magical. 150,000 visitors see this special attraction annually.
I love the Bellevue Botanical Gardens in any season and this is a special early winter treat. Each year's presentation is slightly different from the previous season.

HOURS 5:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.
ADMISSION $5 admission. Children 10 and under are admitted without charge.

VISITOR TIPS
Note: unless you go really early or on a rainy night, you will probably encounter a lot of people scrambling for close in parking spaces. The easiest way to park is to go to the furthest of the school's parking lots. You have a bit of a walk ahead of you but once you get into the Gardens, you will find that the crowds move through quickly.
Photographers should take note that using a tripod will be difficult due to the traffic flow. Most of the larger and brighter displays including the lake can be photographed without a tripod.
One tip for avoiding crowds is to wait for a night when it is raining lightly. The rain will keep the crowds down and the displays look the same as on clear nights. Grab your umbrella and enjoy.
