Seattle Tourist Attractions--Exploring Capitol Hill

Shafer Baillie Mansion on 14th Avenue Built 1916
Capitol Hill is one of the oldest sections of the city. Lovers of beautiful residential architecture and lovely landscaping really enjoy strolling the streets on Capitol Hill. Park at Volunteer Park and start walking. Proceed down 14th Avenue from the Water Tower. Some of Seattle’s most beautiful old homes are on this street, nicknamed "Millionaires' Row". The largest of these old homes is the Shafer Baillie Mansion, a 14,000 square foot Tudor Revival home built in 1916 that is a bed and breakfast.
Adjacent to the Water Tower entrance to Volunteer Park is the magnificent neo-classical Parker/Fersen House at 1409 East Prospect Avenue. It was built in 1909. The Parker/Fersen House is one of the editor's favorite homes in Seattle. Click on the link below to see the Parker/Fersen House.
