Fremont is a north Seattle neighborhood on the northwest corner of Lake Union. In any of the guidebooks to Seattle, the word "funky" always ends up in the description for Fremont. The shopping and restaurant area for Fremont would certainly fall into this category. Fremont is worth a look if you are visiting for a few days and would like to see some interesting Seattle local color. Besides the attractions that we describe, it has a number of bars, restaurants, and shops that are certainly worth exploring.
